Great fire at a shopping mall in Albania, Balla: There are residences upstairs, dangerous situations

Interior Minister Taulant Balla has reacted to the fallen fire at the Metropol “Metrox1> Trade Centre in the town of Lushnje.

Through a Facebook post, he has announced that the fire department and police forces are working to bring serious situations under control.

He writes that the situation is difficult because there are also residential surroundings in the upper floors.

A large fire at the Metropol Trade Center in Lushnje has created a very difficult situation, while the building has residences on top floors. Fire Force and police are fighting to bring the serious situation to control”,- says Taulant Balla.

Police Notification

At around 2:40 p.m., we are notified that there has been a fire in the city of Lushnje at the Metropol Centre.

Police Commissioner Lushnje and Task Force services “Eagle” has gone to the scene and are taking steps to evacuate citizens and residents to the mall.

National security forces have also been sent to support the Local Police for evacuation of citizens.

Firework services are on the scene and are working on extinguishing the flames.

A special investigative group has been established, and in the running of the Prosecutor's Office, it is working to whiteen the circumstances of the fire fall. /Euronews Albania
