Serwer: Serbia has not given up the project for Serbian “Bota”

The US expert on Western Balkan issues, Daniel Serwer, has expressed his concerns about the way the process of dialogue is running between Kosovo and Serbia. He does not rule out the possibility of once again becoming tense in the northern part of the country. Serwer says that since Serbia has not given up on the so-called project [...]
Serwer says that since Serbia has not given up on the so-called Serbian <x0-bota” project, the region will not find peace.
He further estimates that if Serbia is not punished, then there is danger that the situation will again strain in the northern part of the country.
While Serbia does not recognise Kosovo's independence, it will continue its efforts to create the Serbian world, and of course it is a concern for the Western Balkan region. Clearly, Europeans do not have a common language to sanction Serbia after what happened in Banjska. On the other hand, Americans are waiting for the outcome of the elections in Serbia, and do not want to make any decision in this phase that could promote Serbian nationalism more. And if there is no punishment for Serbia even after the elections, then there is danger that the situation can scale back”, Professor Daniel Cerwer has said, to 1.
American professor says Vuciq is being tolerated from the West to play with several cards in foreign policy.
Aleksandar Vuciq has made it clear several times that he is not very interested in dialogue. On the other hand, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti also has his reservations, but there is still more will than Vuciqi for the process to move forward. If the European Union and the United States no longer pressure, then I am skeptical about the future of this process. Wuchitch is not paying much attention to the West. Just look at his close reports with Dodik, Lucas and Orban. He's very good at continuing to make politics with some” cards, Serwer said.
Serwer has also talked about the issue of the Serb majority municipalities' Association.
He says Kosovo in no form should accept a third level of power.
“As for the Association of Serb-run municipalities, it would not be bad if Serbia shows transparency of how much money it will share for Kosovo Serbs. So the process must be very transparent. Also, the way the Association will function should be in full compliance with Kosovo's constitution. So in no form should a third level of power be allowed in Kosovo”, Serwer has declared.
The international community is criticising Kosovo as well as Serbia for lack of implementation of agreements reached within the dialogue mediated by Brussels.
