Russia has attacked Ukraine at night with 15 fears, mainly in the southern part of the state, but Ukrainian air defence has destroyed 14 of them, Ukraine's army said on December 24th.
“As a result of the U.S. Air Force, Ukraine Air Force and defence forces have destroyed 14 Shahed fears in the Mikolajivi, Hirovoradit, Zaporije, Dnepros and Hmelnitski” regions, the Ukrainian Air Force said through a post in Telegram.
According to the announcement, the drones were released from the eastern coast of the Azov Sea in Russia.
This announcement could not be confirmed independently.
Russia has not yet commented on these claims by Ukraine.
Ukrainian authorities have not reported damage or casualties.
Russia has begun its unprotested invasion of Ukraine last February. Moscow is constantly attacking Shahed targets in Ukraine. These types of fears, also known as kamikaz fears, are of Iranian production. / REL
