Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, said that while hosting members of the Mediterranean Olympic Commission, they would support Kosovo for organising the Mediterranean Olympic Games for 2030.
Rama said that at the first Mediterranean Olympic Games to take place in Albania and Kosovo, they will be very proud of the decision already made.
“We are committed to supporting Kosovo, its candidacy for the 2030 Mediterranean Games. And as I was informed by the president of this organisation, in the first Olympic games to take place in Albania, Pristina and Durres, we will be very proud of the decision that has been made. We know this decision is not very easy for you, but you make decisions like people in sports that if you were political people, it wouldn't be so easy to make that decision”, Rama said, writes Euronea.
Furthermore, the head of the Albanian state jokingly addressed members of this commission not to stay at the meetings much but to come out and enjoy Tirana.
The last thing I wanted to say, and actually this is a very serious call. Please enjoy this visit to Tirana, don't stay too long at this meeting, come out and look at the city, it's a beautiful day, and in Tirana now there's a very good atmosphere”, Rama said.
