The Kremlin called the Wall Street Journal's reports of the death of Yevgeny Pigozin invented in a report Friday. The U.S. newspaper reported that the crash of the plane, in which the former head of the Russian mercenary group Wagner lost his life, was “charged” by Russian security official Nikolai Pattrusev.
TIJ adds that Prygozy's private plane crashed due to the explosion of a small bomb placed under one arm, citing information from unidentified Western intelligence officials as well as a former Russian intelligence officer
The last “, unfortunately, Wall Street Journal has added fiction doses”, he said.
Pigozin, who led Wagner, who fought on behalf of Russia in Ukraine, has had a long dispute with the leadership of defence in Moscow, which culminated in late June with a uprising.
The event ended soon, but was described as a serious challenge to President Vladimir Putin's authority. Prygozy died in a plane accident exactly two months later. The Kremlin has described as “the absolute lie” allegations that it was killed at Putin's orders.
Nine other people died in the accident -- two top Wagner executives, Prigozhi's four bodyguards and the three-member crew.
Ptrushev, 72, a former head of security service The FSB, serves as secretary of the Russian Security Council and is considered one of Putin's closest advisers.
Both have known each other since they worked together in the Soviet KGB in Leningrad now St Petersburg in the 1970s.
