Olympic Centre Masterplane Proposal Published

Pristina won the race for organising the 2030 Mediterranean Games three months ago. A wide range of sports, totaling 24 sosh, out of which 21 belong to Olympic disciplines and three other non-Olympics, will be performed within them.

In the application presented, in addition to existing spaces, the country has received an obligation that, to ensure the management of games at the highest level, it builds all spaces that do not meet conditions or that do not exist at all.

Most importantly, the Olympic Centre is praised, as has been named in Masterplane's draft proposal, and will be located in Brnica. This space has been chosen because of the appropriate geographic position and proximity to the capital.

The complex will be built at 60 hectares and, in addition to sports spaces, will have all other accompanying facilities, including administrative, commercial spaces and a bus station.

The SHAK has announced that the central <x0space will be dedicated to the football stadium, which teaches to be one of the city's architectural masterpieces. In addition to the central plant, which will be built with technological development in mind and which will have 25 thousand seats, there will be two more training areas, with natural grass. Near the stadium will be the Olympic pool complex, which will be built in line with the highest international criteria, aiming to turn into one of the most important facilities in the region for water sports. Along the 2023 Mediterranean Games, this complex consisting of an internal pool and two outer pools will be the main space in which water sports competitions will be held. One of the most important sports, which so far has lacked infrastructure, will have its own complex within the centre. To meet the demands of the event, a central field will be built, which will naturally be the focal point of confrontation in this sport and which will have 2,000 seats, as well as six other shells, each with 200 seats for tennis and lovers. Besides tennis, the central field has parameters that enable play within it and in handball, volleyball and small football matches”.

It also became known that the “on the other side of the centre will be the centre of hand-to-hand sports and combat sports. The central space of hand sports, where all matches in basketball, handball and volleyball will be played, will have the maximum capacity of 3 thousand and 500 seats and, being built with higher standards, its spaces will be used in various variants. The martial sports arena, located at the side of hand sports, will have the capacity of as many as 3 thousand and 500 viewers, and after the end of the Mediterranean Games, is intended to return to the lacking centre of the highest level for all athletes of these domestic disciplines. Athletics and several other sports, including cycling and 358 basketball, will be held in open fields, which have the maximum capacity of 5,000 seats. In addition to sports spaces, the complex will also have administrative spaces, for federations and the Kosovo Olympic Committee, a large double underground parking lot, bus station and commercial space, including a shopping mall, the hotel, where the conference centre will be located, as well as the amplification of Olympic Village”.
