The United States will provide assistance to Ukraine, which amounts to $250m, this year's latest package for Kiev in the fight against Moscow aggression, State Secretary Antony Blinken said on Wednesday.
President Joe Biden has asked Congress to approve a $1 61 billion aid package for Ukraine, but is conditioning it to the Republicans, who seek the approval of funds to strengthen security along the US-Mexic border.
The White House has warned that without approval of additional funds, US aid will be completed by year's end. The United States has approved several aid packages for Ukraine in its fight to regain territories occupied by Russian forces since the start of the Kremlin aggression in February 2022.
Secretary Blinken said the last bailout package included ammunition for air protection, high-speed artillery missile systems, artillery ammunition and anti-blonds and over 15 million bullets.
Congress has approved more than $110 billion in aid to Ukraine since Russia's invasion, but has not approved any funds since the Republicans took over the House of Representatives in January 2023. / VOA
