Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Melon, who has been staying in Belgrade today, has said it is important for her country that the Western Balkans become part of the European family.
After meeting with Serbia's President Melon has said Italy will be alongside Serbia on its European road.
On the other hand, she has mentioned the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, stressing that Rome strongly supports this process.
“E knows Serbia will continue to have constructive approaches to dialogue with Kosovo. Italy strongly supports this process and we are working to implement all the obligations that the parties have taken over” has said.
“I want to thank Belgrade for the efforts it is making. Our energy will focus on solving these problems correctly” has highlighted Mellon.
Italy has joined France and Germany in trying to find a solution between Kosovo and Serbia. These three states have proposed a draft statute for the Association of Serb-run municipalities. At meetings that Prime Minister Kurti and Aleksandar Vuciq have had with the three European leaders Mellon, Macron and Sholz have pledged to implement their proposal.
