On Friday, EU Special Envoy for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, who announced he has hosted US Ambassador to Serbia Christopher Hill. Special emphasis was on planning further steps.

The welcome I met this week in Brussels, the US Ambassador to Serbia! As always useful is the exchange of thoughts and the planning of further steps. Grateful for excellent co-operation between the US and the EU in Dialog”.

The dialogue process has stalled in the process of establishing the Association of Serb Majority municipalities, although the draft very controversial entity statute has been quoted by parties with conditioning, although stressed by the EU that they expected it not to have.

Official content is not yet known, but by the Kosovo opposition parties that have examined it, they have shown criticism and presented themselves as harmful.

EU spokesman Peter Stano on Friday for RTV 21 has explained that the draft of Association is non-European and balanced without deepening further as it is still under discussion. Stano has also added that the parties so far have failed to meet their obligations.

US Ambassador Hill has also explained to Euronews Serbia on Friday that Kosovo's recognition from Serbia is currently not being discussed, but normalisation of relations between the two states and stabilisation of the north.

Before all, what's on the table, of course it's not recognition. What's normal. I also think that the situation should normalise. People in the north of Kosovo should wake up in the morning knowing what their life will be. There must be an opportunity for people to travel wherever they want. There must be a consensus on all these issues,” he said.

Hill added that the work of the EU's emissary, Miroslav Lajcak, is very difficult, and he believes he works on it with dedication.
