Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Memli Krasniqi does not expect greater citizens' flight after January 1st 2024, when the circulation of visa-free Kosovars in the Schengen area begins than migration that has occurred in the past two years, during the rule of Albin Kurti.
Header The PDK has said of Online Economy that worrying is the removal of 200 thousand people -- mostly professionals and employees -- not only of the needy -- that happened before visa liberalisation. According to him, this has happened as people lose confidence in the opportunities Kosovo offers.
I don't see much of a problem January 2024 and visa-free movement. This is welcome, it is delayed and paid off and well that it has definitely happened”, Krasniqi said, in an interview for the EO, which will be published after the New Year.
“What has been problematic is the removal of citizens before visa liberalisation, because the movement in the Schengen area, the visit to see opportunities, whether educational ones, perhaps even employment, is less problematic and harmful than the fact that in the last two years, or the half years of Kurti's rule, over 200 thousand citizens have released Kosovo. Most of them with labor contracts, most of them professional, from engineers, architects, to doctors, to any other profession. This is the greatest concern for me, because it has really impacted that there is a population in some parts of Kosovo”.
The most disturbing is that for the first time, we have seen a break from people from all types of demographics, so not only from rural areas, but also from urban areas; not just from one region, but from all regions; not only from the unemployed of the needy, but also from professionals and employees”.
The “has thus been an escape, which has given me a fear that is perhaps a loss of confidence in the opportunities Kosovo offers. The government's responsibility is absolute in this direction”, the opposition leader stresses.
According to him, Prime Minister Kurti and his ministers are active only in propaganda.
His “Absurdies are extraordinary. Days ago, in December, Kosovo's economy was released and said it was the third in Europe. Even children cannot believe that. Because Kosovo's economy, being even small, with 3.5 percent growth, could perhaps be compared to Ukraine, which is at war... It cannot be compared even to the countries of the region. This means we're better than Albania, which means we're better than Montenegro, which means we're better than Slovenia and like Croatia. But I think it's absurd, but it's part of government propaganda which unfortunately continues to be very active”.
Had it been good in this country, 200 thousand citizens had not left the government of Albin Kurti. If these ministers and prime minister truly believe that they have done good work, could they give us answers to why 200 thousand people have left the country”, the chairman of the country has declared PDK, Memli Krasniqi. / EO/
