KEDS and KESCO have again come up with a response, in terms of high electricity bills this month, saying their operations are politicising.
Their response reportedly recently “KEDS and KESCO have once again been found at the centre of continuing political bickering for political gains among rival political parties”.
It's depressing to politicise our operations for political gain. We strongly believe that the public and political parties should respect the autonomy of the scope of private companies, envisioned in our constitution. Unfound accusations and political attacks not only misinterpret our role, but also undermine the business environment in Kosovo”, it says in response.
On the other hand, it is stressed that KEDS and KESCO do not set the prices, but only adhere to them.
A significant point of disagreement has been the misunderstanding about setting prices and electricity tariffs. We want to clarify that KEDS and KESCO do not set those awards. This is the competence of regulatory authorities, which operate independently of our companies. KEDS and KESCO strictly adhere to the tariffs set by these regulatory bodies”, said in response.
