Brigadier General Bundeswehr Ralph Hammerstein has told Die Welt how nationalists are mobilizing in Serbia and that the unstable situation in the Western Balkans is fulfilling Russia's wishes led by Vladimir Putin.
“has been nearly 25 years since NATO intervened in the former Yugoslavia in 1999 and forced Serbian troops to withdraw from Kosovo. Afterwards, the Alliance installed the KFOR mission to stabilise the situation and continues to do so to this day. Hammerstein has declared that normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is not progressing properly, while adding that no borders in the Western Balkans can exist with confidence.
