European Court of Justice said Thursday FIFA and U EFA illegally banned the football clubs of creating a European Superleague.
The European Superleague and its supporters complained that FIFA and UEFA violated the race law, threatening by sanctions clubs that joined the breakaway league.
President UEFA, Alexander Ceferin, called <x0 Vistry” and “lying” clubs and threatened to suspend footballers from the Superleague clubs.
The company formed by 12 rebel clubs now led only by Real Madrid and Barcelona after Juventus withdrew this year began legal actions to protect his position, and the court was asked to make a decision based on European law.
“FIFA and U decisions The EFA to make any new football club project subject to their preliminary approval, such as the Superleas, and to prevent clubs and players from playing in those races, the court said.
The European Court's decision would boost Superman's promotional hopes for the creation of this race, although the court said that “this decision does not mean that such a race as the Superleague project should be approved immediately”.
Two years after the initial project failed, Superleague executives submitted a new proposal for a league with several divisions in February, which would include as many as 80 European football teams and would operate out of UEFA authority.
The English Premierliga clubs are not expected to join the new Superleague plan. The international reputation and the financial power of Premierliga has increased even more in the past two years, while a bill by the Great Britain government published last month proposed that English clubs be barred from participating in the breakaway leagues.
Explaining this bill, the government said the European Superleague “is definitely not competitive” and “it threatens to undermine the football pyramid against the will of fans”.
