It has listed some of the irregularities that were carried out in the process, saying a higher respect for democratic standards by an EU candidate country has been expected.
“I was a member of the European Parliament Election Monitoring Delegation in Serbia, where together with my colleagues have been monitoring early national parliamentary elections. Serbian elections were held under uneven conditions and were held with frequent irregularities on election day and prior to that, such as misuse of administrative resources, vote buying and violating the secret of the vote”.
She said they were witnesses who were brought voters from the entity of Republika Srpska from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We saw cases of organised behaviour of voters from Republika Srpska and the intimidation of voters. We were absolutely expecting higher democratic standards from an EU candidate country, which negotiates EU membership”.
Von Croamon wrote that “needs an international supervision and a full-fledged investigation”.
The European Parliament is ready to mediate between the ruling party and the opposition in Belgrade to ensure peaceful and democratic dialogue and to reduce tensions”.
On December 17th, Serbia has organised parliamentary, local and district elections.
