We have said what the people want to hear and view as their value” That's how Branimir Nestorovic explains the success of his election list “Ne, the voice of the people” in Serbia's elections, on December 17th.

The result of this doctor's list and conspiracy theories that have contested the coronavirus, while publicly demanding convincing “evidence” that Earth is not the flat tablet ʹ is considered the greatest surprise of these elections.

This pro-Russian list has left out the electoral threshold many prominent political actors.

According to preliminary election results, it has won 4.8 per cent of the vote, which can bring 13 mandates to Serbia's Parliament. While in Belgrade, this list could be crucial to forming the government.

Serbian sociologist Zoran Stojilkovic tells Radio Free Europe that all elections bring some possibilities to players who, usually, play only an election season, but that they can open themselves up even chances for a longer presence.

“We are not talking about 10, 15 or 20 percent of the vote on this list. We're talking about something below 5 percent of the vote”, he says.

Stojilkovic estimates that between power and opposition coalition “Serbia against violence”, a part of citizens has wanted something else.

The third-power policy, which is democratic but clearly Europhobic, is a position that has been able to articulate that position, much more that the national right has not shown the will to create broad enough coalitions to cross the” threshold, says Stojilkovic.

According to Branimir Nestorovic's statements on election night, the “Us list, the voice of the people” has gathered the rejection of “Westerners who want to take Kosovo”.

That's the most popular face on the election list “We, the voice of the people”.

It has become known to the public when the world's Coronavirus appeared, which he named the most ridiculous <x0virus in human history, which exists on Facebook”.

From that time onward, his message to women who can freely go to Milano, Italy, for shopping, is dated to the time when the conditions with the coronavirus in Italy were alarming.

Who did Nestorovic get the votes?

Branimir Nestorovic did not answer Radio Europe's free questions on this topic, while, on election night, he told Serbia's Radio Television that his list “has received a little bit of it from everyone, one percent out of all”.

Sociologist Stojilkovic does not believe this list has received votes from ruling parties, nor from the opposition coalition “Serbia against violence”, which has emerged second in the December 17th parliamentary elections.

“Dever last time, but, on the other hand, there are a number of maybe activated abstentions, not necessarily involved in politics”, says Stojilkovic.

In the 2022 parliamentary elections, Nestorovic supported the right list, led by the Serbian movement Dveri, and its leader, Bosko Obradovic.

As he has said, it has been politically active, originally as a member of the Serbian Movement for Reconstruction, and then of the Democratic Party.

What were the campaign messages?

During the campaign, Nestorovic addressed voters with “shikaca” As the Serbian national hat is known in the head.

During the election campaign, he repeatedly criticised Serbia's co-operation with Western countries.

Serbia is in a situation where there is a Western clientele, which tells stories about the European road. We were Europe before she knew that [Europe] exists”, Nestorovic said at an election rally on December 10th, broadcast Beta.

On December 6th, Nestorovic also criticised the ministers of the Government of Serbia, who speak of <x0... enemies from the West”.

Under such friends, we really don't need enemies”, he said.

At the same time, he also said the West “does not hide” that it is an enemy of Serbia.

He stressed that Brussels' agreements with Kosovo would declare it invalid.
Kosovo has declared independence in 2008, but Serbia does not recognise it.

Under the European Union's mediation, the two countries are in negotiations for normalising relations, which must result in a legally binding agreement.

At the December 13th Pre-election rally, Nestorovic said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is his “quality”.

On the list “we, the voice of the people” is also Dragan Stanojevic, a little-known in Serbia, but described as a very pro-rus player who is under Ukraine's sanctions.
Sociologist Zoran Stojilkovovic says that in Serbia, “for a very long time, a kind of pro-kinese and pro-Russian sentiment has been fed by the” regime.

“There are two types of majority consensus in the polarised electorate here ) opposition to NATO integration and sanctions against Russia. Nestorovic has taken a part of this” mood, says Stojilkovic. /rel
