Democratic Party of Kosovo Vice President Vlora Citaku has praised that Kosovo is wrapping up its worst and most failed year in foreign policy since its proclamation of independence, without recognition, without membership in international organisations and without advancing the Euro-integration agenda and under sanctions on the part of the European Union.
Citaku, at a media conference, said Kosovo's foreign policy has been characterised by callophony, lack of vision and the plurality of scandals.
The only success of this government is the commitment of advisers with salaries thousands of euros per month, without any results for Kosovo. The Kosovo Government's irresponsible approach, the open and public clash with our main allies, brought reduced ambitions for Kosovo by dialogue mediators. And as a result, we concluded with an agreement, which is neither comprehensive nor final nor mutual recognition in the center. We concluded with a draft status agreed on by Prime Minister Kurti, who in essence is a Constitution for Kosovo Serbs and creates a parallel system within our Republic”, she stressed.
She said there is no one with a sound mind who would love this kind of negative mirror in foreign policy.
In a year when the membership process in the European Union was concrete, whether with the approval of candidate status, whether by opening negotiations for Bosnia, Herzegovina, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, the Kosovo app remained untreated and Kosovo continues to have no access to hundreds of millions of euros of development funds dedicated to the Western Balkans”, Citaku added.
Citaku stressed that the PDK has offered support in Kosovo's international empowerment, where Chairman Memli Krasniqi and other party officials, at numerous meetings and visits abroad, have insisted that Kosovo citizens not bear the cost of irresponsible and advanced government behaviour.
I would like at this conference to discuss other topics, because Kosovo's successes in foreign policy, we should all rejoice. Unfortunately, despite efforts to find even a success of Kosovo in foreign policy, it was impossible. Actually, the foreign policy of our Republic this year was in existence. In the following year, with the new elections held, this devastating and divisive mindlessness of this government will end”, Citaku concluded.
