Salih Mustafa was sentenced to 22 years in prison, for a person who was killed by the army of Serbia, but allegedly being held by Cal.

For Serbia's crimes in Kosovo, only 6 former Yugoslav officials have been sentenced by the Hague Tribunal.

Special Appeal sentences Salih Mustafen to 22 years in prison

The Special Appeals Court has declared a verdict against Salih Mustaf, condemning him to a unique sentence of 22 years in prison for war crimes.

The Act was proclaimed Thursday in Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( In The Hague, by Judge Michele Picard.

The First Stair Court in Kosovo's Specialised Chambers had convicted Salih Mustaf of war crimes by condemning him to 26 years in prison. While during the Appeal hearings, Salih Mustafa was declared innocent.

I had to say that even virtually even the innocent ninja even though the court legally found me guilty, because I am convinced that absolutely no deed for what the prosecution ordered that three years I didn't consume”, Mustafa had declared.

Salih Mustafa had submitted 51 points to the Court of Appeals' panel against the 26-year sentence pronounced against him by the Special Court on 16 December 2022.

At the session held 26 October, the protection of Salih Mustafa through lawyer Julius Von Bone has said that during the proclamation of the sentence, the court was selective and took into account only witnesses who testified against the Mustaf. The defence also claimed that the court has committed violations of the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, in the case of pronouncing sentence. In this case, lawyer Von Bone has asked for Apel for the interpretation of the Constitution.

Sali Mustafa's team during the Appeals session had demanded that Sali Mustafa be acquitted, but if not, his sentence be reduced.

While, the Prosecutor's Office specialised in its statements called for Appeals to remain in force of condemnation against Salih Mustaf. According to prosecutor Caesar Mihailzcuk, the sentence is based on reliable evidence.

And the defense of the victims through attorney Anni Pjet had indicated that the victims involved in this court case hope that this is the first step to ending their pain

Otherwise, the act of prejudice against Mustafa was proclaimed on December 16, 2022, with which Mustafa has been sentenced to 26 years in prison. To this act, Salih Mustafa has handed over his appeals file, while the Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS) and victims' defenders had to hand in their response files by June 5, 2023.
