The Veterinary and Food Agency said that within the year over 300 thousand pounds of meat products and 1 million pounds [1 million kg] of other non - animal products have been eliminated. The agency spoke of RTV21 on the eve of last year's holidays, when it says it has increased the number of controls of economic operators. Citizens have expressed their concerns with the quality of foods they consume while the Association “Consumer” says institutions have not established consumer-inspection partnerships.

AVUK has urged citizens to take more care of children's gifts because of the possibility of completing their product deadlines. Public Health Director Flamur Kadriu said agency inspectors have banned a number of economic operators due to doubts about the poor quality of food sold.

“Over a year over 70 thousand checks were conducted, and some 1 million pounds of non-living property have been destroyed, while over 300 thousand pounds are animal... the year's holidays always have more tenders for greater sales, and by past experiences, a practice of exchanging gifts has become a practice, and in this way we have intensified our inspections and we have under observation the gifts that are for children, and in this way of showing greater care of how products are kept in markets, the deadlines, etc.

AVUK said it has addressed 460 consumer complaints within a year. But despite warnings from the Veterinary Agency and food for additional controls, citizens are skeptical of what they consume.

As consumers, if we don't have the care to watch them, it's a disaster, get a sausage in the store where you're in the back, no more water checks, stay the rest of the day and feel so there's no control enough except for us, Mr.”, said one citizen.

We're not sure, you and the day of their descent, if you look at the deadline”, a citizen told RTV21.

The market control shortage has also confirmed the chairman of the association “Consumer”, Selatin Kachanic, under which they are conducted on the basis of the possibilities and capacities that institutions have. He said there have never been enough food checks in Kosovo.

Look at enough control as the consumer expects, and it's never going to be done, checkups are done with some symbolic measurement samples and it doesn't get enough... see after all these years we are in 2023, and yet the consumer citizen is not a state partner in order to cooperate with the inspection, state”, Kachanic told RTV21.

According to the veterinarian agency in the January-November period, 135 fines for countering products in non-adquate conditions were presented. /21Media
