Former negotiator for dialogue Avni Arifi has spoken about the issue of license plates.
He said the EU is right to seek moves from Kosovo after Serbia has implemented the agreement.
Arifi says the Serbian side will be seen from Brussels, which has taken constructive initiative regarding the license plates.
It is understandable that when one party shows good will and implements agreements, Brussels looks to the other side as well. Despite the motives (which I don't believe stem from any Serb side constructiveity) the Serbian side will be seen from Brussels, which has taken constructive initiative in this process”, Arifi has said.
Former negotiator Arifi said that unlike Kosovo, which is focused on symbolic issues, Serbia has had another goal.
Kosovo in the last three years in the negotiation process has focused on symbolic issues to that extent that the issue of stickers and car signs became a security topic in key circles dealing with European security topics. Serbia did not have that focus. They had nonsonic but substantial themes so the Association of the Serbian Church”, Arifi stressed
Arifi says that with the Serbian side's decision on license plates, the latter are scrapping the image that they are non-competitive of the agreements stemming from Brussels.
Serbia is removing the image of the agreement's non-imptimators, and for that in Brussels and Washington there will be full consensus on its application for the rapid implementation of the association”, he said.
He said Vetevendosje highly appreciates the implementation of the Brussels agreement from Serbia.
The first “Picque of the Brussels Agreement is for stickboards, diplomas and passports for which Serbia's implementation does not present anything for it, but a large plus of Brussels and LVV which highly appreciates the implementation of the Brussels agreement on Serbia”, he said.
He also talked about the epilogue of Association.
According to Arifi, the ruling party will soon send the country to the polls.
He says this will happen after the Constitutional Court's verdict on Association.
“In what VV officials reflect, the chances are real that after the Constitutional Court's verdict on constitutionality and the statute of Association, the VV will send the country to the polls”, Arifi told Frontonline.
Opposition parties in the country have demanded that the Association document go to the Constitutional Court for assessment.
The draft of Western diplomacy was handed over to the Kosovo government, as did Serbia's, at the end of October 1923.
