13 new HIV/ AIDS in Kosovo

International War Day Against HIV/ AIDS finds Kosovo with 13 new cases of people affected with this virus during 2023.

Pristina Infectious Clinic's chief of the Department for Sexual Diseases, Murat Mehmeti, tells Radio Free Europe that these cases have been presented to the institution he heads.

Currently, according to him, 65 total cases are being handled and supervised.

Mehmeti calls for as many tests as possible, stressing the importance of early diagnosis.

The early display of HIV also means early treatment and the slightest possibility of presenting complications from this infection. It is known that if this infection advances and is not detected early, then it comes to mass immunity damage”, Mehmeti says. /rel/
