Erzen Zyberaj, an amateur athlete from Kosovo, has made an extraordinary walk from Pristina to Tirana.
This to mark Albania's 111th anniversary of independence, thus becoming part of celebrations in a very special way.
During the 260 - mile [260 km] run, he faced various challenges, especially those of the cold weather.
His triumph was crowned after arriving in Tirana, where Zyberaj was rewarded by Tirana Deputy Mayor Andy Sefer, who honoured him with a medal in recognition of his arrival.
This was a unique and emotional experience. Run from Pristina to Tirana and be part of the Independence celebrations has a special significance for me,” said Zyberaj, excited by the expectation and gratitude they were shown.
His courageous act was inspired by many, and in some way it symbolized the close and brotherly bond between the two capitals and their men.
Zyberaj announced his departure from Pristina a day earlier and arrived in Tirana at a record time, just on the day of national celebrations, where the holiday was enriched even with the Albanian diaspora parade.
