Pristina, November 29, 2023 The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK), and the Kosovo Police, the Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, has carried out an operation during which a group has been identified that deals with production/separation and the market of counterfeit money, which is suspected to have been produced in a neighbouring state with Kosovo, and then by criminal groups distributed in the countries of the region. Special Prosecution reports that six suspected persons in this operation have been arrested inflict six (L/074 of the Republic of Kosovo's Penal Code, since the same were the counterfeit money distributors, namely, metal coins two (2) thereafter forged. Meanwhile, three (3) of the suspected persons are citizens from Northern Macedonia, and three (3) other Kosovo citizens. The operation has seized sacks of 2-bund metal in value of eighty-five thousand and ten (85.010.00), which are suspected of being forged. Four (4) cars used by arrested persons and seven (7) mobile phones have also been seized. The persons arrested under the State Prosecutor's decision have been sent to the detention for 48 hours, as well as within the legal deadlines will be applied for the appointment of the detention measure.
