The north-Atlantic alliance has congratulated Albania on the Independence Festival.
“Ryposton to join us to celebrate our Alliance Albania on their Independence Day”, said in NATO's post on the X platform, coupled with a photo of an Albanian soldier in the alliance's peacekeeping missions with a black red flag in hand.
By contrast, today Albania marks 111 years of independence.
This day reminds us of the declaration of independence by representatives of Albanian villas in Vlora 111 years ago, a key moment in forming the Albanian state.
Albania's NATO accession on April 1st 2009 represents another chapter witnessed in our national history, marking as one of the greatest and most important achievements for all Albanians.
Membership in the north-Atlantic Alliance has prompted Albania to consider its security as an integral part of the security the Alliance belongs to according to the principles of the NATO Treaty.
Since NATO plays a central role in ensuring collective security of member states, Albania continues to foster unity within the Alliance and the crucial importance of the relationship between the countries of the Transatlantic Gulf.
The goal remains for NATO to continue to be a stable pillar of stability for the future of peoples.
