This statement has been made by Miftaraj in response to the official's statements at the Kosovo Ministry of Trade and Industry, Nexhat Krasniqi, who has commented on the US decision to put him on the black list of sanctions, has said he has never been convicted of corruption or bribery.
“The use of official duty is synonymous with corruption. The IKD had begun reporting on persons suspected of criminal abuse of official office as suspected of criminal acts of corruption, had begun to accept criticism and attacks by VV officials in the 1920s from now on, considering our unilateral, non-professional and biased reporting of why we are referred to as corrupt acts when the same were accused of misusing official office<1>.
Such baseless “Sulmes in the last three years are also followed by many high-level civil servants to close today with the baseless and unstable response to media and journalists from Nexhat Krasniqi”, Miftaraj wrote.
On the other hand, he said that since this approach had started to become a phenomenon when politicians were holding speeches that this act is not a criminal corrupter, IKD in 2021 to one of the conferences that had invited Chief State Prosecutor Besim Kelmendi, Supreme Court Chairman Enver Peci and Court of Appeals to three if misuse of official office is a work of corruption.
Their public response was that this criminal offence is the mother of criminal acts of corruption. Now when these politicians and senior public officials have this interpretation, let it mean that they either have extreme disabilities or attempt to exploit the position and authority to intimidate the media, journalists and civil society activists to report when the same are charged with corrupt acts”, Miftaraj has ended.
