Kosovo's government has adopted the Bill for ID. Interior Affairs Minister Xhelal Svecla said that with the adoption of this bill, Kosovo citizens can now be equipped with IDs from birth. But that, according to Svechla, is not mandatory, reports Online Economy.
This bill defines the conditions, procedures, the competent launching body, conditions for using ID and citizens' obligations related to its use. As the innovation of this bill is creating the possibility that Kosovo's citizen, from the line until the age of 16 could be equipped with identification but without being forced. This will enable citizens of this age to move outside the Republic of Kosovo only with identification in those countries that have the Republic of Kosovo agreement”.
The bill also regulates the use of electronic data from identification, shape and content, its validity time, and the rules in case of damage, loss or theft of ID”.
