Speck has expressed surprise with such an attitude of the head of the Spanish government saying that “do you not know Kosovo, but Palestine, which is partly headed by Hamas?

Spain continues to be one of the 5 European Union states that continue not to recognise the independence of the Republic of Kosovo. During the past year, there have been warnings that the position of official Madrid can be moved with the opening of several offices in Pristina, however, nothing concrete has happened.
The issue of Kosovo's recognition by Spain has recently been re-actualised since Sanchez has taken over the Catalan party coalition, which, according to international reports, could possibly realise Spain's position on Kosovo.
