Only someone can tell me it's time to stop, Mr.” It was these words of Raphael Dwamena when it was discovered that he had heart problems some time ago.

Born in Nkawkaw, Ghana, Raphael Dwamena played and trained with the Red Bull Ghana development program.

At the International Tournament in Croix, France, in 2013, he helped RB Ghana U17 win silver and was named “Best player” of the tournament.

Before returning to Ghana, Dwamena first traveled to Austria for a weeklong test of FC Red Bull Salzburg.

He joined the Salzburg youth team in January 2014, and immediately had an impact on the U18 team. In a June tour of that year, Ghanai scored seven goals in four matches. Even though Salzburg ended up in third place, he won the Golden Shoe.

In July 2014, Dwamena went to Liefering, where he made his 18-year-old debut in the First Austrian League (second of importance). In the following 2015-16 season, it would also mark the first goal as a professional player, on September 18th.

In the summer of 2016, Dwamena passed by the other Austrian club, Austria Lustenau, for the figure of 600 thousand euros. There he achieved 18 goals in 20 matches, before that performance provided a passage to Swiss Zurich on January 27, 2017.

His influence on the new club was visible and immediate. On 12 goals in 18 matches, Ghana helped Zurich secure the league title and the promotion at Switzerland's Super League. And, in the highest Swiss league, he achieved two goals in debut against the Grassoppers.

In August 2017, the 28-year-old was very close to making a dream of moving to the English Premier League. Brighton's team had agreed to Zurich for his transfer, but everything stopped when medical tests showed problems in his heart. So he stayed at Zurich.

Although he continued to play soccer and in August 2018 to Levante in Spain after the latter paid 6.2m euros for his card.

With Levante in La League, Dwamena appeared in 12 matches, donating two assets. Then he'd go on loan to Real Zaragoza in La League 2 for a season.

October 2019 would bring a big blow to his career. After the new medical examinations, doctors suggested the immediate withdrawal from football to Dwamena.

He, however, continued playing after placing an implantable cardiverter (ICD) in January 2020.

After that, the Ghanaian career would come to Denmark, where it signed for Weyle. After debuting with goals in 2020, he played four more games before doctors stopped him from playing because of heart problems.

Because of the heart condition and some disturbing measurements, Veille confirmed on October 26, 2020, that Dwamena could not play for a period. Later, in November 2020, Weyle's sports director declared that Dwamena had played his last match for the club.

Despite medical concern, Ghana did not give up football. He returned to Austria by signing with Blau-Weiss Linz on 25 June 2021. However, two months later, Dwamena would suffer the first real shock. He fell into the field during a Austria Cup match against T SV Hartberg and was later admitted to the hospital.

God has always thought highly of me”, Dwamena said at the time, explaining that the event came due to the blow the defibrillator gave him. Even doctors later confirmed that such blows were not dangerous for the player's life, though it would be best for him not to play soccer again.

But his love and passion for football kept him from giving up this sport. In January 2023, Dwamena signed for a small Swiss fifth category club, BSC Old Boys. There he achieved eight goals in 11 presentations before arriving in Albania.

Albania brought prosperity to Ghana's career, a career that in normal conditions could be continuing to the world football elite now, such as Premier League.

In its first season in Albania, he achieved 11 goals and seven assistings in 18 performances in Superior, as well as a goal and two assistings in six matches in Cup.

This season he was the top scorer of the Superere, but fate did not want him in his hands to have such a trophy.
