As the SPS reports, they have been transferred to the Kosovo Specialised Chambers Pre-primation Target in The Hague and will appear before Kosovo's Pre-Procedure Court without unreasonable delay.
According to the ZPS, the Pre-Procedure Procedure Judge has ruled that there are suspicions based that Bahitari and Januzi have tried to convince a witness not to testify in The Hague.
“Z. Bahtiri and Mr. Januzi were arrested in connection with crimes against justice administration, including intimidation during criminal procedures, according to Article 387 of the Kosovo Criminal Code (KPK) 2019, Code No. 06/L-074, and obstructing official persons in performing official tasks within the understanding of Article 40150, (2) and (5) KKP, in violation of Article 15502 of Law No. 05L-53 for Specialised Chambers and Specialised Prosecutor's Office. The Judge of Pre-Procedure Procedure has ruled that there are well-based doubts that Mr. Bahtiri and Mr. Januzi tried to persuade a witness not to testify in the procedures of Specialised Chambers”, the report said.
In action of arrest, Z. The SP has been assisted by EULEX and the Kosovo Police.
The ZPS ultimately points out that the issue of witness intimidation or revenge against them takes very seriously and that it will investigate and prosecute anyone involved in any case.
