Security experts assess KSF transition time to be cut

Security experts in the country are calling for the state to increase the budget for increasing human and material capacities in the Kosovo Security Force (FSK), following the terrorist attack in the country's north and the presence of the Serbian Army on the border.

They are seeking to share larger financial means in order to cut the KSF transition.

Security expert Nuredin Ibishi said the KSF transition is going beyond expectations, with the establishment of human capacities, weapons and training.

According to him, the KSF is an army in transition that has participated in many trainings, and peacekeeping missions that they think is an advantage for him.

The Kosovo Security Force is in the transition phase, building human and material capacities, including infrastructure, weapons, training due to new frameworks. I think in this direction a great advantage has been made, and all of this is going to the condition of predictions beyond that. I think the KSF has also participated in peacekeeping missions, except for the humanitarian ones in the past, this shows an added advantage of”, he said.

Ibishi said that the framework of risks and threats that are taking place, the political and institutional level must act faster in terms of advancing both the possibility of KSF integration into NATO and in terms of regional co-operation.

Security Affairs Knower Drizan Shala said the Kosovo government should increase the budget to cut the KSF transition phase by 2026, not as predicted in 2028, reports EO.

I think that now in the entire KSF-including plan that it would have to close to 2028, it would have to be looked at in terms of financial and in the next year so that in the next budget we can have a greater increase of the financial share to narrow down, or cut the part of the tarnzation that it would have to be up to 2028, but now we have to do it 2026<1.>, he said.

Shala said the KSF has shown extremely professional, where this, according to him, is proving the fact that it is NATO's worthy coalition.

“The KSF has been shown so far in the context of that aspect of balance or capacity building according to NATO standards has shown extremely professional, and this has proved that NATO has serious partners for KSF.
