Police Director: Over 100 people have participated in the terrorist attack on Banjska

Kosovo Police General Director Gazmend Hoxha said that more than 100 people have participated in the 24 September terrorist attack in northern Kosovo.

Hoxha, said that based on intelligence information from the police, it is about over 100 persons involved in the September 24th attack.

And our other intelligent information also says that another number of the criminal group has remained in Serbia and that they intend to enter Kosovo as soon as this free movement corridor was created. It means the number of these people, of the terrorist criminal group, has been much larger than 30 more than 80. It means we're talking about more than 100. More than 100 are those who took an active part in the operation that day, but there are others who have supported them from Serbia's territory, and they also have back here in Kosovo, it could be much bigger than that original number than 30, 80, but that we're talking about passing the number 100”, Hoxha said in Tv1.

He noted that such a statement was confirmed based on the number of vehicles, weapons, and uniforms found in this section.

These were the first information, so during the 24 September morning. What we did without being this number of people. But then, after using the particular technology of the Kosovo Police who are afraid and also after the 24th evening when we managed to enter into the village, even in the interior of the monastery and around the monasteries we have managed to sequencing a large number of vehicles that this terrorist group has in possession and they have all been equipped with special weapons. Hoxha indicated that at the moment when police patrols have noticed that a barricade has been deployed in Banjska, Sergeant Bunnjak has organised his team to go to the scene.

Furthermore, Hoxha indicated that the team organised by Sergeant Bulnjak have met with border police patrols to see closer to what is going on with the barricade imposed by the terrorist group, which caused the sergeant's death.

Then, police sergeant Africa Bunnjak, on his own initiative has organized his own team and have gone to the scene. Then a mine against infantry broke out, this mine was initiated through battery contact by the terrorist criminal group, who have been in the vicinity of the barricade, thus causing the death of Africa Bunnjak”, Hoxha said.

On the other hand, Hoxha indicated how police patrols have withdrawn the body of the late Bunjak, following the confrontation with the Serb terrorist group.

Hoxha also said the state of Kosovo would ask for his extradition from Serbia so that he can account for other persons who have been involved in the September 24th terrorist attack.

“This person who has been even on the US blacklist has been sought by Kosovo Police and the state of Kosovo, continues to be a serious threat not only to Kosovo but also to the region. It is now trying to justify the government of Serbia by firing all responsibility on him, but this person is a person who has political responsibility, the second man on the Serbian List and very close to Government in Belgrade. It is seen taking part in Belgrade's exhibits and weapons fairs, with most of the people close there and then taking the courage to challenge almost Kosovo institutions, international KFOR institutions within our territory, but this time it was found wrong to take his company because he received the deserved response from Kosovo institutions, respectively, from Kosovo Police. We will continue to seek his extradition. We have already made a request to EULEX police seeking from Serbia's police to make the extradition and also to provide information on this and other persons who have been involved in the terrorist attack on Zvecan Banjska of Zvecani”, Hoxha said.

We remember that in the village of Banjska in Zvecan municipality, armed groups of Serbs attacked Kosovo police on 24 September, killing Sergeant Africa Bulnjak.

Three attackers were killed in the subsequent shootout.
