Former fighter of KLA, Dritan prettyj on Tuesday has been released from prison after the Court of Appeals refused his extradition to The Hague tribunal.
He spoke after his release to the media, where he said freedom has never been lost.
Most said it was proven that they are on the right track and that the KLA has fought directly.
I mean that we had never lost freedom, neither I nor the Kosovo Liberation Army, or those in The Hague. It was just an attempt to scare us, scare us, get us out of our way and tell us we weren't on a straight track.
The fact that today despite the efforts of this reform for justice, to remove from the capable and patriotic justice system and the court, has hardly succeeded in doing so. Today we were able to demonstrate again that we were on the right track and we fought right from”, the light declared prettyy.
We remember that Dritan Dikkij was arrested on July 31st 2023 with an arrest warrant issued by the Special Court of Kosovo aimed at extradition to The Hague.
Former fighter of The KLA was charged with revealing the names of witnesses in several cases previously opened by the Kosovo Special Prosecutor.
Many were charged with allegedly obstructing the work of officials and fearing witnesses according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
This Tuesday the Court of Appeals in Tirana accepted the defence request for his release.
Appeal also decided to consider the request made by Kosovo's Special Prosecutor for his extradition to The Hague unacceptable.
