The construction associations and construction companies, within the framework of the Kosovo Business League, require implementation of Law No. 08L-183 for supporting public work, which concerns the government's promised financial support at the value of 20 percent of public contracts.
According to them, this approach has greatly damaged construction companies, while saying companies have executed all obligations under contracts.
Through a media communiqué, the LBK considers that the promised financial support of 20 percent of public contracts has not yet been restored, as the law predicts:x0>.
This situation has placed a considerable burden on businesses, affecting financial stability and their ability to act effectively. We strongly urge the responsible authorities to give priority and accelerate the reimbursement of 20 percent support as mandated by Law No. 08L-183. The Kosovo Business Connection calls on central and local governments to take immediate action to address this issue and fulfil their obligations under the law. The implementation of the law will not only provide much needed financial relief to companies, but also strengthen confidence and co-operation between the public and private sector”, the communique says.
“We believe that respecting rule of law and respecting contractual agreements is essential for the continued growth and prosperity of the business community in Kosovo. We hope that the government will act quickly to correct this situation and ensure that businesses receive the support they have been promised”, their communique concludes. /EO/
