German MP: Furilisation of Serbian Army Attack on Europe

German MP Addis Ahmetovic and the chairman of the International Climate and Energy Policy Subcommittee has expressed concern about increasing destabilisation in Europe. In a press release, Ahmetovic has stressed that the dangerous game of autocratic forces in the Western Balkans is bringing a new dimension to this general crisis. [...]
According to Social Democrat politician the military mobilization of Serbian forces on the northern border of Kosovo and the declaration of Republika Srpska's “President, Milorad Dodik, for secession, are clear attacks on liberal democratic Europe. These actions aim to push borders and thus cause further conflicts in Europe.
Ahmetovic has indicated that it is obvious that there are close links between Russian aggression in Ukraine and the conflicts in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that not everyone is aware of on the EU Commission. He maintains that Russian President Vladimir Putin has used the situation to create confusion and tension in the Western Balkan region.
With the war in Ukria, Putin has crossed the first gate of attack in Eastern Europe. With this simultaneous effort to revive new conflicts in the Western Balkans, as is currently happening in Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the West is facing a further test, which we must resist with any determination. “
In this context, Ahmetovic calls for increased determination by the European Union. He stresses that the second door for entry into Eastern Europe is shaken by Russian aggression and conflicts in the Western Balkans. In this situation, it is important that the EU engage more actively and protect freedom and security on the European continent.
Ahmetovic reiterates the call to the Serbian side for immediate deesception in Kosovo and a ban on the gathering of Serb troops to the border. He adds that this will not only preserve the stability of the region, but also ensure Serbia's credibility on its path towards possible membership in the European Union.
In this difficult time, Ahmetovic calls for immediate action by Germany, European Union and NATO states to prevent the deteriorating situation and to preserve peace and security in Europe.
The conflict in Kosovo began to escalate on September 24th after an attack on Kosovo police, resulting in a Kosovo police officer losing his life. / DW
