Former Foreign Minister Petrit Selimi on official visit to Ukraine

Former Kosovo Foreign Minister Petrit Selimi is probably the first former senior Kosovo official to be visiting Ukraine, this state in the middle of the war, in which the debate on recognition of Kosovo opened in recent months. According to Selimi's posts made in his account on the social network X (formerly Tweiter), he was invited to a conference by Ukraine Deputy Prime Minister and the Centre for New Europe, as panel speakers along with senior and present officials from Ukraine, Montenegro, Moldova, Poland and so on.
Selimi has also met with various Ukrainian deputies, as well as the chairman of the Assembly (Meclis) of the Rafat Cubarov Crime Tartars. The last Ukraine has named the defence minister from the Muslim Tatar municipality.
Turkey's Ambassador to Kiev, Yağm Ahmet Güldere, has laid down honourary doors for the former Kosovo minister, while Selimi has also visited the Goncharenko Art Centre, of the famous urkainas Oleksey Goncharenko, who is known for Kosovo's pro-recognising positions.
In a post, Selimi said that “Ukraine is a country that is facing a genocide that already claimed tens of thousands of lives, but in this existential effort Ukraine is not alone. The democratic world, including the people of Kosovo, stands alongside Ukraine, while we have to do everything to increase formal interaction and dialogue, but also economic and civil society with Kiev. ”
Ukraine does not recognise the state of Kosovo, but according to Selimi's experience, it has begun to recognise Kosovo passports as currency documents, while in Ukraine some Kosovars are mainly working with international humanitarian organisations.
