The country's president, Vjosa Osmani, has travelled to Croatia yesterday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of her Croatian counterpart, Zoran Milanovic. Osmani, aside from Zagreb, will also visit Karlovac and Rijeka, said at the Croatian presidency's announcement.
Osmani will meet with her counterpart today to then continue with the heads of the Parliament of Croatia and the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
During her stay in Croatia, among other things, the country will also meet with members of the Albanian community living in Croatia.
According to the announcement, the leaders of both states will discuss bilateral relations between Croatia and Kosovo, the political and security situation in Southeast Europe, current events in northern Kosovo and the European and Euro-Atlantic perspective of Kosovo and other Southeast European countries.
“Croatia supports Kosovo's membership in international organisations, including support for granting candidate status for membership to the European Union.”, the presidency's announcement said.
“President Milanovic has already publicly appealed to EU members who have not recognised Kosovo's independence to do so. And in his recent address to the United Nations in New York, President Milanovic stressed that Croatia advocates universal recognition of the Republic of Kosovo and its right to exist as an equal member of the community of nations.”, the presidency's announcement concludes.
