CNN's chief co-ordinator, Clarissa Ward and her team had to lie low after a hail of rockets were thrown along the Israeli-Gaza border.
Ward and her team had observed the consequences of attacks carried out along the Israeli-Gazan border when they heard heavy rocket shots.
The team then continued running and fell to the ground in a nearby ditch.
We're only five minutes away. Gaza is in that direction. Now we can hear a lot of planes in the sky. We can also hear the Iron Cup tracking a number of those missiles while they were moving up”, Ward reported live on the broadcast.
We came to this location because this was zero ground for this whole massacre operation. This was the first country where the Hamas militants broke that border wall”, Ward continued.
After the situation stabilized slightly, Ward stood up and headed toward some damaged vehicles.
Ward also stressed the fact that the location is not too far from the Israeli city of Sderot, which has become a ghost city after heavy fighting over the weekend.
