MD for Civil Code: It's been worked long by experts, taken to base international recommendations

The Civil Code draft, which had sparked major debate months ago, is expected to re-procedure further for approval in the Assembly. Minister Haxhiu's adviser Genc Nimoni has made this known.

He has said that this code has worked hard and that recommendations from various acts have also been made. He has demanded that more than 166 articles be made no obstacle to Article 188, which in the first discussions allowed registered communities of people with the same sex.

Nimon has said that for the life of this reform, it has been hard working and that there is this dictatorship's determination to pass this code.

There is a determination to finalise this reform. I think it's a content reform. No, it's not like it's been working a long time and we've been taking the mandate in 2021 and we've taken it priority and I consider that the Civil Code is close and we've got a lot of recommendations from different acts, civil society, other interest groups in the sense of completing the Code, and we've made a working group and after a marathon we had finalised”, he said.

He has said that during the drafting, international and constitutional standards are being taken to base in the sense of human rights.

The Civil Code has 1 630 articles and Article 188, the one for civil communities, has also been a misunderstanding called marriage of the same sex. So these are known here as the civil community. We to draft this, we have taken into account all international and constitutional standards in the sense of human rights, and it has also been processed again because we consider it important enough that this reform is alive because it is not only work in one article but it is a content reform of over 1 630 articles<1>, Nimon said.

As for controversy by opposition deputies, Nimon has called on them to offer recommendations. He has reiterated his commitment to life of this reform.

“It is the question of each MP and each MP who has his own opinion it is good to reflect on the importance of this article, to offer specific recommendations in this article if it is considered problematic because besides this article, we are making some other changes in particular that have to do in the child's interest and so on.
