A High Commander NATO said Tuesday that the alliance has equipped its peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, KFOR, with weapons of <x0-powered combat”, which emerged as a need following Serbia's terrorist attack in Banjska, with Milan Radojicchiqiqi headed.
Admiral Stuart B. Munsch of the Allied Joint Force Command in Italy has told Associated Press that a battalion of about 200 troops from the United Kingdom and 100 others from Romania is bringing heavier weapons in order to have <x0-power combat” for Kosovo.
Munsch said the NATO alliance is ready to add more troops and weapons to maintain peace.
“NATO is holding further forces equipped with even heavier weapons capable of further combat power in a high state of readiness that can be determined if NATO countries decide to do so”, he said.
While KFOR's outgoing commander, Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, said KFOR fully supports the EU-brokered dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade for normalisation of reports.
“Situate remains unstable and can easily escalate. Only a political solution can bring lasting peace and stability to the area”, he said.
