The Palestinian Health and Authority Ministry has reported that 161 people are left dead in Gaza, following Israeli reports that have come in response to the attacks by Hamas militants in the southern region of Israel.
The broadcaster Al-Arabiya has reported the news, citing the Palestinian authorities' announcement.
On the other hand, Israel's preliminary balance from Hamas' attack is of 40 people killed and 740 injured.
The news has been suggested by local media, including data presented by Israeli police.
According to the latter, fighting is expected to last for several days at a front set up on the Gaza border, where Palestinians have taken control of seven key crossing points there.
With bulldozers, they have destroyed the fence, starting incubation and causing a real tragedy.
Also reported, 57 Israelites, including police and soldiers, have been taken hostage by Hamas militants.
Beyond the fact that fighting can last on time, according to Israeli services, a few hours will be needed to recapture crossing points and establish a kind of order on the border with Gaza.
Palestinians themselves at the West Bank, meanwhile, are reported to be at a holiday with mass street celebrations.
