Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia is planning a protracted campaign of afraid attacks in a bid to demoralise Ukraine.
Zelensky said he had received intelligence reports suggesting Moscow would launch attacks using Shahed drones produced by Iran.
This comes after Ukraine carried out an attack that said it killed hundreds of Russian soldiers in the Donba region, the BBC writes, broadcasts Clankosova.tv.
In an extremely rare acceptance of losses on the battlefield, Russia said the attack killed 63 of its troops.
Speaking from Kiev in his night speech, Zelensky said Russia planned to wear out Ukraine with a long wave of drone attacks.
“We have to secure and do everything for this that this target of terrorists fails like everyone else, he said.
“Now is the time when all involved in the protection of the sky must be particularly attentive”.
Russian drone attacks in Ukraine appear to have increased in recent days, with Moscow launching attacks on cities and thermal power plants across the country during the last three nights.
