White House: Biden didn't know classified documents were in his house.

President of the United States of America, Joe Biden did not know that classified documents dating back to when he was vice president were in his former student's office or Washington home in Wilmington, White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre said on Thursday. “Biden did not know what was in them [...]

“Biden did not know what was in those classified documents”, the White House said after Prosecutor General Merrick Garland appointed a special adviser to investigate the handling of sensitive government documents found there.

Joe Biden acknowledged on Thursday that a document marked as classified by his time as vice president was found at “his personal library” at his house in Wilmington, Delaware, along with other documents found in his garage.

He confirmed this several days after it was found that sensitive documents were also found in his former institution's office in Washington.

Biden told reporters at the White House that he is co-operating fully “with a Justice Department investigation into how classified information and government data were stored.

He did not say when the last series of documents were found, only that the review of possible storage locations by his lawyers ended on Wednesday evening.

Jurists found the first set on November 2nd, several days before the middle school elections, but publicly discovered this development only Monday.

The documents classified from the time Joe Biden was vice president of the United States were found at his house in Wilmington, Delaware, the White House said on January 12th.

This confirmation came days after it was found that sensitive documents were found in his ex-institution's office.

Richard Sauber, a special adviser to the current president, Joe Biden, said that after the initial documents were found, other locations could have been submitted to.

Sauber said a small <x0-number” classified documents were found in a space in the Biden garage.

The Department of Justice was immediately ignored “and lawyers took over the data, Saber said.

Earlier this week, the White House confirmed that the Department of Justice was examining a small number of documents marked as classified” that were found in the office that Biden used earlier.

Lawyers said those documents were found at the Penn Biden Centre office and immediately announced the National Archives regarding the discovery, the White House said. Biden had used this office after leaving the vice-presidential post in 2017 and had stayed there until he launched the presidential campaign in 2019.

A Person Who Speaks About AP on Thursday, said the president's legal team found additional classified materials at a second location. This person was not authorized to speak publicly about the details of this sensitive issue, so he spoke on condition of anonymity. This source gave no details about where and when the materials were found, or the classification level that these documents had.

The discovery of additional documents, conducted by Beden's lawyers, came hours after White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre avoided questions about how Biden had acted with classified information and the actions of the White House after obtaining documents. She said the White House is committed to handling this matter “in the right way”, stressing that Biden's personal lawyers had immediately announced the National Archives on the issue.

But Jean-Pierre refused to tell if Beden personally was notified about the matter, if there are other classified documents that could potentially be found in another location and why the White House waited more than two months to show that the first documents were found.

The first classified documents were found at the Penn Biden Centre on November 2nd, days before the United States held the Muslim elections.

“Sic said my colleagues yesterday, this is an ongoing process and is being examined by the Department of Justice. Therefore, I am limited by what I can say on this matter”, Jean-Pierre said.

The White House and the US Department of Justice refused to comment on reports that additional documents have been found. For finding new documents, he first reported NBC News.

The Department of Justice is looking into the data that was found at the Penn Biden Centre, and Attorney General Merrick Garland has asked John Lawsch to handle the case.

Lausch is one of the few nominated still in the justice system, since former President Donald Trump's administration.

The findings that Biden likely did not act properly on classified documents could turn into a political headache for him. Biden had called Trump's decision to keep hundreds of secret documents in his Florida home as irresponsible “decision”.

There is, however, the difference between Trump and Beden regarding classified documents.

State officials had demanded that Trump return documents and have issued legal orders to the case. Afterwards, Trump lawyers handed in 38 classified documents, but the FBI found over 100 classified documents that had not been handed over to authorities. / REL
