In an interview given to NTV television late Tuesday, Kalin underlined that Turkey would not accept the expansion of Greece by even one mile in the Ionian Sea.
“Turkey will not accept any extension, even for a single mile,” said Kalin, adding that if Greece decides to make such a move, Turkey will provide a powerful “response”.
Kalin, however, did not say an expansion of territorial waters would be seen as a case justifying Turkey's military actions.
His comments echoed similar statements made in recent days by the country's foreign and defence ministers.
