Secretary - General NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, said Ukraine needs a significant “increase in weapons at a crucial moment to Russian aggression, Reuters reported.

He said on Wednesday that Western allies should offer more weapons to Ukraine, “to achieve a peaceful settlement negotiated”.

“This is the key moment in the war and needs a significant increase in support for Ukraine”, he said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Periscope follows.

According to Stoltenberg, Ukraine needs more systems and air defence armor as well as ammunition.

Stoltenberg added that the situation along the front line has stabilised in recent weeks, but as he stressed, fierce fighting in Bakhmut showed the importance of securing more weapons to support Ukraine.

Western countries, particularly the United States, have delivered billions of euros to Ukraine since Russian aggression began on February 24th of 2022. /Periscopi/
