Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Economy Minister Artane Rizvanolli, in a joint video message, have warned that the next two months will be critical in dealing with the energy crisis.
Kurti has said that saving electricity is necessary for regular and affordable supplies.
I want to remind you that the two months ahead of us are critical in dealing with the energy crisis. So to continue the regular and affordable supply of prices, to save your budget and the Republic of Kosovo, I call and encourage that you continue and intensify energy savings”, Kurti stressed.
He has told citizens that if they have other ways of heating, besides electricity, they exploit them and that the Government will continue to do everything to facilitate your energy crisis.
He has also talked about the tools the government has shared so far to subsidize energy.
Dear citizens, to help you cope with the energy crisis, we have allocated over 95m euros. Since February we have been subsidizing electricity bills for all of you. We have paid over 52m euros per family and over 37m euros for business bills for February-December 2022. Since September, we have provided additional subsidies to over 200,000 families who have saved energy and since October we have been subsidizing the purchase of efficient heating equipment for over 8 thousand households”, Kurti said.
While Minister Rizvanolli has thanked citizens who, according to her, have helped alleviate the crisis. Dear citizens of the crisis have helped you, each of you, to rationalize electricity consumption. After four years of increased electricity consumption, family consumption has been reduced for the next year. In November alone, families have spent 15% less electricity than the previous year”, Rizvanolli declared.
