Russian President Vladimir Putin said there is a lack of some drugs in Russia and that prices have increased, despite the country's producing most drugs.
While prescription drugs are exempted from Western sanctions imposed due to the war in Ukraine, sending them to Russia is difficult because of problems caused by the war in transport, insurance and customs, as well as other restrictions, according to officials in the pharmaceutical industry.
“has a lack of some drugs despite the fact that we saw pharmaceutical production in the first three quarters of last year increased by about 22 percent,” said Putin during a television meeting with officials.
“60% of drugs on the market are local. However, there has been a lack of some of the tour, and prices have increased”, he added.
Shortly after Russia invaded Ukraine last February, the Russians rushed to buy and collect drugs, with citizens buying drugs worth a month in just two weeks.
