The protest was warned yesterday by the mayor of the Shrpca municipality, who is also deputy chairman of the Serbian List, Dalibor Yevtic, following the wound of two young Serbs in this municipality.
Kosovo police announced that the Shtrpce-Prevall regional route, from the village of Drajkovc to Brezovica, will be closed for circulation until the end of the warned protest, which started at 12:00.
On January 6th, Kosovo Police (PK) reported that two people -- one about 11-year-olds and the other about 21-year-old -- have been wounded with firearms in the village of Drajkovc in the municipality of Shtrepca.
According to the report, they were fired by suspects who were with a vehicle of moving travelers running from Shtrpce to Ferizaj.
In terms of the PK case, he identified and later arrested the suspect with the initials A.K. age 33.
Kosovo Defence Minister Andmend Mehaj said yesterday that “in the case that occurred in Shrpca is included a member of the Kosovo Security Force” and that security and justice bodies are being seized in the case.
Court hearings were held Sunday for the appointment of the move against the KSF soldier, who allegedly injured two young Serbs.
The hearing has been kept closed to the media, while the court said that media will be notified for the move after reviewing the statements.
The prosecution has requested the detention measure for the A.K.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani and Prime Minister Albin Kurti have reacted to the incident in Shrpca on Friday.
Osmani said that the “lagogues of 11-year-old and 21-year-old youth in Shtrpce is an intolable act” and that the author must be brought to justice. And Kurt said he's “totally worried about their wound”.
Other international representatives have condemned the incident in this Serb-run municipality. / REL/
