The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met for the second time today with five European emissaries, writes Periscopi.
According to the prime minister's communiqué, during the meeting it was discussed on the granco-German plan, which “Kurti recognises as a good basis for further discussion to move forward towards the full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, with mutual recognition at centre”
“This is the second time Prime Minister Kurti hosted a meeting of foreign policy and security advisers, Plötner and Bonne, following the first meeting on September 9th 2022. This time they were joined by the diplomatic adviser of the prime minister of Italy, Talão, and the American emissary Escobar. For more than two hours, the European proposal was discussed, which Prime Minister Kurti recognises as a good basis for further discussion to move towards the full normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, with mutual recognition at the centre. Minority rights were also discussed, which prime minister has expressed consideration even in the general framework for the agreement proposed by him on August 18th, 2022 in Brussels. Prime Minister Kurti, among other things, stressed Kosovo's need for recognition by non-recognising states and membership in key international and trans-Atlantic organisations”, the report says.
“He announced to the emissaries about Kosovo's achievements and successes in the year we left behind in the area of rule of law, about reforms undertaken, democratic and economic progress, as well as Kosovo's application to the Council of Europe in May last year and the European Union in December, as historic steps for Kosovo”.
