“simply wrote me “Romanian girl” and put on an enamel of strawberries. I was confused because I had only 200 followers and kept a private account”, Gusa said.
She is one of two teenagers who have described for the BBC how Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan approached them online, apparently using a standard formula.
It was clear that we were high school girls,” said Darius. “We had high school in our biography, I think he was just trying to find girls who were as innocent or naive, in my opinion”, she said.
She also showed a screenshot of the message she never answered. But she adds that the same had happened and that some of her friends responded to the message.
Daria, who is now at university in the UK, is the daughter of renowned Romanian politician Cozmin Gusa.
The Tate brothers are currently in 30-day custody in Romania as police investigate charges of rape and trafficking of human beings.
A video published on social media also shows how Andrew Tate instructs others about how to approach girls on social networks, raising doubts about a broad scheme of human trafficking. /Euronews. al
