In an interview for Canadian television, CTV, he has said his state will send 60 advanced tanks, in addition to 14 German model tanks, Leopard 2.
Varshava, who has positioned herself as one of the most supportive countries in Ukraine, has put considerable pressure on Germany in recent weeks to enable the delivery of Leopard 2 tanks to Kiev.
Germany has agreed to send these tanks to Ukraine itself, but has also given the green light to other states to do the same.
For now, we are willing to send 60 of our tanks modernised, 30 of them PT-91. Besides that there are 14 Leopard 2 tanks that we have at our disposal”.
PT-91 is Polish combat tanks, which has started to be used for the first time in the 1990s.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zekinsky has thanked Poland for sending more tanks.
“S Both, we'll win”, he wrote in a Twitter post.
The war in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022.
