Palestinian ambassador calling Kosovo part of Serbia, leaves Belgrade

Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has received a farewell visit Thursday to the Palestinian ambassador to Serbia, Muhamed Nabhan, who has thanked “for the extraordinary contribution he has made to the close relations between the two countries and two peoples during his long-term mandate”. Nabhan has been linked to Serbia for some [...]
Nabhan has been linked to Serbia for decades. He studied in Belgrade, his children were born there, and since 2006, he served as Palestine's ambassador.
Nabhan in his statements in Belgrade has repeatedly reiterated that Palestine will never recognise Kosovo.
In a statement of years ago, Nabhan estimated that the parallel between Gaza and Kosovo would be unreasonable, since, as he said, Kosovo has always been part of Serbia, while Gaza and the West Coast have never been part of Israel”.
Kosovo has not won citizenship status thanks to Arab countries and Muslims, nor is it thanks to Israel. The Arabs have supported Serbia's position and still back”, Nabhan said.
Israel, however, has recognised Kosovo's independence later.
Nabhan even said Serbia has never occupied Kosovo.
Kosovo has always been part of Serbia, while Gaza and the West Coast have never been part of Israel. These are occupied territories, while Serbia has never occupied Kosovo. The parallel would be reasonable if Serbs were Occupators”, the Palestinian ambassador said in an interview given media in Serbia.
At the last meeting with Vuciq, Nabhan has called it the model for protecting national interests.
Vuciq retorted that Ambassador Nabhan left a deep impression on Serbian society on his personality and hard work, the Serbian president's press service announced.
“As Serbia's proven friend and well acquainted with conditions in our country and region, I believe you will continue to promote our co-operation in the future, as much as your options” allow, Vuciq said.
